News > Rezare to Lead Farming ICT ProjectInnovation Waikato has selected Rezare Systems to manage a Traceability and Integrated Farm Management R&D programme The project is a result of NZTE’s focus on Integrated Farm Management Systems as a way of driving technology uptake to improve New Zealand’s competitive status, in concert with a traceability proposal from the Farmgate consortium organised by Medialab Limited. Medialab and Innovation Waikato jointly manage the programme of work. Core to the entire programme is an on-farm demonstration of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), focused on integrating the technologies and making them easier to use, and demonstrating the economic benefit to farmers. In early April a contact group of farming, computer, manufacturing, and rural industry representatives met to thrash out a vision for traceability and integrated farm management in New Zealand. “There was agreement that the New Zealand agricultural industry is going to see some changes around technology,” said Rezare Systems managing director, Andrew Cooke. “There were a wide variety of opinions about the best approach and drivers, and we’ve tried to incorporate that feedback in the project plans.” Contact Innovation Waikato, Medialab, or Rezare Systems for more information.
